About Us

The Markham New Horizons Band is a member of the New Horizons International Music Association, a movement founded more than two decades ago by Roy Ernst, professor emeritus at the Eastman School of Music at the University of Rochester.

Our band serves as an entry access point to music making for adults, with or without musical background, and for those who have missed playing since middle or high school. We began in January 2018 as a group of five players and have grown steadily. During the calendar year, we do two to three concerts.

For more information on our concept and philosophy, click HERE for the New Horizons International Music Association site.

We practise at Long & McQuade Markham located at 9833 Markham Road, just south of Major MacKenzie Drive on the east side of Markham Road (Highway 48), every Tuesday from 1:00 - 3:00 PM.  Come join the fun, learn and play music, and make new friends.

Long & McQuade Markham and Markham Baptist Church are our proud and faithful sponsors.
